This 74-year old red barn belongs to the University of Georgia and used to sit by the Intramural Fields on College Station Rd. In 1997, the university no longer deemed it worthy as a gateway to campus and was contemplating tearing it down, however, the public was so outraged that it was instead decided to move the barn to a more rural setting just outside of town.
Today, a parking lot graces its old location while the Red Barn itself is slowly rotting away on the university's farmland near where Freckles resides.
